Darrell Tindall:

A Poet

with

Traumatic Brain Injury

Darrell Tindall was 14 years old when he was in an accident that changed the course of his life, when his mother and he were driving to his baseball game. Without warning, a school bus ran a stop sign and collided into the car that Tindall and his mother were in.

Although Tindall had to give up playing baseball and violin, he maintained his optimism and is now on his second book of poetry.

I titled my book, The Next Step because I felt I’ve reached the next step in my recovery. The first book I wrote which I titled Memories, was just that. Memories. This book is blithe and more uplifting. I’ve stopped living in the past and started living today for today. I hope you enjoy it.

Dreams…

Dreams can come true…

Live everyday like you were born again and the day is

new,

You’ve gotta stay on top of the world and don’t let

anything get you down.

The problems in your life could be as big as a mountain,

or as tiny as a speck of dirt on the ground.

Be sure of yourself and never give up.

The competition could fall, and you could win with a

jump.

In this world there is nothing you can’t do.

How far you get is impossible for anyone to say but

you.
