AMAZE

Women’s Empowerment Group: AMAZE

The name came when I thought about a woman friend I had and I thought about all the amazing things she could do, as well as her ability to maintain peace among many different groups of people.

And I thought how amazing it is to find women like her in the world. And then I thought how wonderful it would be to provide young women role models like her; young women who can see strength, who can see women accomplishing amazing goals.

Sisters Across the Nation (SAN) is the name that a group of women created as a sub-group to address sisterhood among women.

The Objective:

Both AMAZE and SAN have the objective to unite women in an endeavor to define values, goals, and meaning based on non-sexual relationships. This means that women are teaching women how to interact in ways other than through sexuality, to greet people on the basis of merit and respect, rather than coyness and seduction.

The Values:

Self Reliance

Self Love

Women’s Voices

AMAZE and SAN are part of an organization of women that are not based on race, class, or religion, but based instead on gender. It is a group solely relevant to women and to their actions toward others in response to life’s difficulties.

Some Triggers for Adverse Behavior:

Abuse (sexual/verbal/physical) in childhood, teenage and young adulthood

Media that objectifies women

Parents who are addicted to porn/strippers

Possible Conference Topics:

Trigger Words

*What words have you heard in society that hurt you as a woman?

Anger

* How does your anger reflect your hurt?

Women Trusting Women

*Are you a woman that women can trust?

Being a Woman that Gets Respect

*Saying no, defining boundaries, speaking what you think and feel honestly with control

If you are interested in being a part of AMAZE and SAN, send an email to lovelylydialingers@hotmail.com. Place the word “AMAZE” in the subject line.

Let’s get this organization noticed!

Sincerely,

Nicole Moore
