GodsGirls.com: Virtual Sex at Its Finest

by Brooke Palmer

Recently a new form of internet pornography has become popular: Alternative porn (featuring girls who look more Goth and punk than Playboy Bunny, sporting tats and piercings, bald heads and gender-bending looks) is gaining attention in the virtual social-networking scene. One such service, GodsGirls.com, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. And I got to talk, via email, with GG’s founder, Annaliese. I have to say, Annaliese did not shy away from my questions at all; she was well-prepared to defend her erotic enterprise. I was impressed! Check out what she had to say in response to my pointed questions:

Are you a woman, Annaliese?
This is an interview first. Yes, I have a vagina. I am most certainly female. Glad we could clear that up.

Why did you start GG?
I started GodsGirls to fill what I felt was an empty place in the market. I saw a lot of pretty so-called "alt" models featured on sites that I thought weren't very flattering and I sought to provide them, as well as potential customers, with high quality alt-erotica and a more personal user experience. I wanted to really give the models an opportunity to be immortalized in a way that they could feel sincerely proud of.

Isn’t it basically a virtual mens’ club (the models are all female and the sex seems to be geared toward a male audience)? Are all of the members men?
No, not at all. Are there still men's clubs? If there are I don't know that the Y generation knows about them. GodsGirls has TONS of female members--- both heterosexual and crushing on our models. I don't know if I agree that GodsGirls is geared towards a primarily male audience. Maybe 30 years ago I would have agreed with that but I think in the pool of current 20-somethings you see a lot of melding of the sexes and a lot of women who are comfortable admitting that they want to look at a naked woman. Bare breasts are not just for men anymore.

Explain the social networking. Does the “socializing” ever go beyond web chatting? How does the fantasy/porn world mix with the real world to create a real “community?” Or is the “community” solely one of the world wide web?

The sort of culture that GodsGirls is representative of definitely extends into the real world but we are all sort of a part of the social networking movement. I think that young adults want their porn to be a little bit more meaningful than just rubbing one out to a stranger. This is a chance for a member to get to regularly interact online with a gorgeous sexually liberated girl....beats lurking around on myspace trying to figure out if Jane Doe is even using her real pictures and wondering what she looks like under her clothes but never finding out, right? And no, we are not just on the world wide web-- our members come out regularly to parties that we throw or conventions that we will be attending and [customers] get to meet and hang out with the girls in person. So far everyone has been really nice and we are all having a really great time.

Describe the “after parties” which the GGs models host. What goes on at these parties? Do the girls keep their clothes on?

It can sometimes be hard to get the girls to keep their clothes on at the party—never mind the after party where everyone is generally intoxicated.. but.. a lady doesn't kiss and tell.

Tell me about the GG residence. Who lives there/how many models? Do they pay rent or do they get paid to live there? Are there rules? What do they like about living there?

The GodsGirls loft and now the GodsGirls house have always been a revolving door for models staying for extended periods of time. Some of my personal favorite roommates have been Toryn, Chelsea, Charlotte and Stiletto. Sometimes they pay rent. We aren't that rich yet. We are just a bunch of girls hanging out together and creating something cool for the world to view. One time we found a huge castle on Craigslist with a mote and everything that we really wanted to rent and get a ton of girls to move into but the expense would have been like 12 thousand a month. We hope to move into a castle within a couple of years. Haha.

What does a GG model DO on a full-time basis? How much time is spent “working” and what “work” do they do?
GodsGirls models are constantly interacting with members. They are blogging, posting in our expansive forums, emailing and private messaging with members. It's a good time. I'd say a girl spends between one and ten hours on the site, talking to members, daily.

Do GGs models have to be single? Are there any married models?
There are a handful of married models.

Explain how GGs is, according to you, “as close to high art as you can get”? How is it different from SuicideGirls.com?
We are constantly working to create the most high-quality, inspired images that we possibly can. We work with some of the top fetish photographers, fashion photographers, and music video directors in our area to create the best content possible. We work incredibly hard to maintain a high quality of models as well. Our number of girls is a lot smaller and we probably decline a much greater number of applications in order to uphold our standards. I personally feel that suicide girls has gotten a bit out of hand with what seems to be a mass acceptance of models.

What do members of the site/community get that visitors to the site don’t get? How much does a membership cost?

A membership starts at 19.95 per month and gets cheaper if you purchase months in bulk. Members have full access to our community (blogging, profiles, forums, chatrooms, and social networking with both models and other members), ability to view the 4 new photosets and/or videos per day, access to our archives of over half a million photographs and dozens of videos.

Do you believe that men and women have different erotic desires? If so, in what ways primarily?

I think that women can be much more deviant than men. You would have to read what is going on in our sex-topic forum though to explore that. You would not believe the things that the seemingly most innocent girl wants to have done to her in the bedroom (or a range of other places.)

What music (bands/artists) gets you in the mood?

The Bronx, Scarlet Grey.
