“…As this life has fought to fasten armor on my heart

Only this pen has the strength to pierce my soul

At first glimpse, a drip

At second glimpse, a drop

Suddenly a flood

Unwillingly

Unable, to stop

Now here we are

Maybe in a place we would rather not be

Ripple upon ripple of history

Wave upon wave of misery

Don’t buck the tide

Enjoy the ride

Slide, slide

Down to the abyss

Engulfed in total blackness

The only division

Is between predator and prey

To one we may be the predator

To another we are the prey

Released as ocean spray

Far and wide

Spread into a mist

Free from the abyss

At first glimpse, a drip

At second glimpse, a drop…”
