Presence in Absence

poetry and sculpture

by

sharon jones

The aura of presence in absence alone

Worn like a shield in a turbulent storm

Illusive façade so no one can see

The scars of my soul, hidden in me.

Presence in absence is all that can be

An abundance of faces invisible to see

Guarded and locked away from the light

Except for the silent one beginning to fight.
