THE PEOPLE CRY OUT

by Jackie De Hon, Ph.D.

The rich, arrogant politician makes bad decisions for his country.

He sends innocents to kill other innocents to satisfy his own greed.

Oil greed. Money greed. Power greed.

He wants Power-Over The People.

He cares not for The People; their unmet needs.

But The People care.

He does not speak for The People.

And The People cry out:

This is not our will!

Do not kill our children!

Do not kill Others' children!

Be satisfied with what you have!

Care about The People!

The enemies' rich, arrogant politicians respond.

They, too, make bad decisions for their countries.

They do not speak for The People.

And The People cry out:

This is not our will!

Do not kill our children!

Do not kill Others' children!

Be satisfied with what you have!

Care about The People!

The People of all nations know that if we continue to kill each other,

There will eventually be NO MORE PEOPLE.

And The People cry out:

What if...Their People and Our People could make the decisions?

Perhaps we could develop a government

That cared-about The People.

We could create a representative democracy

That protects minorities as well as

"The so-called majority,”

And leaves all free to choose

Whether and what to worship.

It would endorse social equality

And social justice for all,

Regardless of race, gender, or class.

Perhaps we could elect People, who cared about The People,

To supervise the government.

A government OF The People and FOR The People

...and BY The People.

Wow! What a concept!

We could call it "A DEMOCRACY"!
