WEEN LIVE

WEEN was recently in Kansas City performing at the downtown outdoor venue, Grinders. Promoting their latest recording, La Cucaracha, which contains all the genre-mocking styles, long guitar solos, and lyrical vulgarities that we love about WEEN, Gene and Dean and crew performed their typical two-hours plus set, mixing many of their new songs with stuff from all of their other beloved albums. It's good to see that Gene is back to his normal pudgy self (last time we'd seen him he was wirey and crazy-looking with eyes bulging out), still singing amazingly well. Dean still rocks out as usual. It was another great show.

To capture the action,
photographer Dan Gemkow
took pictures of the band's performance solely to share with you all. I was hoping to get an interview with the guys, but they would not talk.
