Woke

He woke next to her early in the morning before sunrise. She slept hard, but her breaths were slow like their love had been in the latest hours of the night before. Her soft smell sugary and vanilla remained in his nostrils. He could tell that he loved her but he did not know where he was or why he was there. The night before with her had been a blur of love and dance, a drunken excursion into their own feelings. But now he noticed the sunlight burning red draping her naked body before him and he wanted to love her again but instead he washed her with his eyes… every inch as the sun began to brighten.

Then he remembered the night. The bed was not enough nor the lamplight. The two of them needed the entire room, they needed a pasture, actually they needed the entire world, they needed planets… nothing could contain what they had to offer each other in those hours. Nothing could prepare them for what would come in the time that followed. He drifted away into half sleep… shadows of his passion and dreams of her hotness upon him.

When he awoke the second time she was awake and sat naked on a chair in the corner of their hotel room, the sunlight through the windows now mid-morning bright made her blue eyes burst with fire as she stared at him with an intent that he did not recognize. He was still learning her intricacies. Her long slender body seemed to caress the chair as had been done to him the night before. He was overtaken even by her looks in this hour of his wake as he had been overtaken by her the night before. He wondered what she thought in that moment but accepted that he may never know… she was a mystery. What must happen was something that he would forever regret. He recognized his own weakness as he slowly pushed the covers back and made for his clothes left in a pile at the foot of the bed. His eyes crossed the carpet where could still be seen imprints of their bodies... there they had made love and twisting made love there and using the chair in which she sat made it there and against the wall he had lifted her into love and where he thought he was in control she would show him that neither she or him would be in control that evening but some other force that they would never really understand and for certain in the context of their circumstance, neither one would ever truly know… but that did not matter then in the midst of their breath. In their hotness. In thier love... in their purity of knowing or feeling the love of each other for moments that in their singleness would last all of eternity… and they would fall for each other, they would fall in love. Slow and without hope or pain or sanctity, just rawness. Just amazingness… and they would finish in time with one another and be left to crawl slowly back to their bed which for one night was the same bed….
